EPFO Added 17.89 Lakh Net Members In June, Says Govt Data

Latest official job creation rose for the third straight month in June. Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has inducted 17.89 lakh new members in June 2023 as per the latest data. The Ministry of Labor issued a statement in this regard on Sunday. It was the highest since August 2022, the data said. Total payments are 11 months maximum.
It said 3,491 organizations provided social security coverage to their employees by paying the first ECR this month.The number of members increased by 9.71 percent in June compared to May. 10.14 lakh new members joined the EPFO ​​in June. About 12.65 lakh members left but rejoined, payroll data shows. (The price of gold declined for the fourth consecutive week..but!)
The 18-25 age group accounted for 57.87 percent of the total members who joined in June. Also, out of 10.14 lakh new members, around 2.81 lakh women members joined the EPF for the first time. The percentage of female members joining the workforce is the highest compared to the previous 11 months.
