Britain’s faith in India is put to the test by its stranded F-35 fighter plane.

Britain’s faith in India is put to the test by its stranded F-35 fighter plane.

Analysts pointed out that the HMS Prince of Wales and the other members of its carrier strike group had an unusual number of 11 F-35B fighter jets on its flight deck when they docked in Singapore on Thursday.

This is due to the fact that one was absent: F-35B Lightning 034, which has been stuck at a southern Indian airport for about two weeks. The cutting-edge stealth fighter requested an emergency landing at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport after being caught off guard by poor weather on a sortie in the Indian Ocean. Since then, it has been stranded there because of an engineering problem.

One of the world’s most sophisticated fighters, the F-35B Lightning was built by the American aerospace behemoth Lockheed Martin and is loaded with technology that India does not yet have access to.
