Two individuals were booked by the Mumbai Police on Sunday for allegedly duping a fruit vendor from Kandivali. The duo purchased 44 dozen mangoes and handed over a cheque, which later bounced.
Police said the accused convinced the vendor to accept the deal, claiming the mangoes were intended for distribution at a temple in Dadar.
According to police officials, the complainant, identified as Mohammad Nazrul Islam, originally hails from Jharkhand and came toMumbai in 2017.
